when you start remote desktop, the login window will ask your username and passwd, defaultly, the username you login in will show at the username field.
but if I changed my user account name, and login as new username , but when I launch remote desktop, it still show the old username in username field. is any way to change it?

        Yes.
Open RDC and click the options button and put in the proper username and then save it. (see pics)

but when we install some other application ,it still show the old user name, it got to be xp cached old username somewhere, and we have find it and change it to name user name ,so we don't need to change username for every application.

                Go to c:\documents and settings\

do you see a folder there with the same name as the old user name?
do you see a folder there with the same name as the new user name?

DO NOT CHANGE THE FOLDER NAMES.

                    This MAY solve the issue.

As an admin and not the user in question, rename the user folder to whateverOLD (or something).

Have them login, which will create a new user folder. It should be under the new name. COPY over the appropriate items from the old profile to the new one (my docs, etc).
