  • Set Default Telnet application

When clicking on a telnet url in IE 7, i would like to see that IE opens Putty as my default telnet application. Anyone by chance now how to enable/set this?

    Re: Set Default Telnet application

I would imagine there is a setting somewhere as i've just tried it in my browser (IE6) and it opens my telnet application.

I can't find it as of yet but i'll keep digging.

      Found it.

      Open an Explorer Window.
Click on Tools and Select Folder Options.
Click on the File Types tab.
Scroll down to (NONE) URL:Telnet Protocol.
      Click on Advanced.
      Click on Edit.
Change the Application to perform this action part to the app you want.

Voila should now open Putty by default.

Looks like a (bug?) Feature of IE7. It looks like that Firefox doesn't give any troubles.
