  • Command line for unattended WinXP/2kPro patch installations

M$ has release many patches and recommended updates for their OS namely WinXP/2kPro.

Like to know how can i do an unattended automated installation for ALL the patches and recommended updates assuming i have all the patches and recommended updates downloaded.

This way i do no need to stay on 1 new terminal for up to 1hour installing the patches manually.

Not planning to use SUS server yet. Therefore like to know the shell command if any for this task.

Check out this link, it gives some good examples of how to batch install hotfixes on machines. You can automate the entire process with the combination of a network share, predownloaded hotfixes (patches), logon script, and a little time to prepare it.

Because you're already deployed look at the section labeled as "The Update Installation".

The document is written for NT/2K but it works the same with XP.
