  • XP Pro SP2 internet speed registry entries

My internet speed is extremely slow. Is there any Registry entries that I could look at that, if changed would speed up my internet speed?

I currently have up to 8 Mbps speed from my ISP.

I have set the IrqX in system.ini file Per Daniel Petri's "How Can I Increase my Broadband connection speed in Windows xp/2003"

I have also set the bandwidth % to zero per Daniel Petri's "How Can I Increase my Internet connection speed in Windows XP"

All speed test I have run have given result from 1.1 to 2.1 Mbps.

The only thing left as far as I know is the Registry.

    Thanks....

Go to www.dslreports.org, take their speed and tweak test, and follow their recommendations.

As a general tip (not related to the above URL): Do NOT be tempted to run ANY tool that promises to do wonders, these tools are almost 99% of the time filled with trojans, spyware and other crap, and they'll ruin your computer and sometimes even steal your information.
