  • Error 5: access is denied when starting ICS (was: hi)

    when i try to start Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)
    i get the messege : error 5: access is denied.
    i am log in as administrator, and in heve allso problom to strat ather service when the OS is comming up

    You are likely to get a ban for not using a proper, meaningful title. I suggest you change it to something like "ICS error Access Denied"

    You want to tell us:
    What Operating System you are using (I presume XP, but which service pack)?
    Are you in a domain, workgroup or standalone?

    Do you mean that you cant manually start any services or do you mean that some services fail when starting up?

    Are their any domain or local policies restricting your rights?

      Correct. As I said, I will not tolerate any breaking of the forum rules. Use a thread title that describes your problem (like the one used now, after editing the original one). If you can't follow or understand a simple rule you will need to find a different forum to post at.
