It looks like more Windows 9 details are making it out into the wild, including this first batch of screen shots from the Windows 9 technical preview:

Anyone willing to take bets on if the 'Windows 9' name will stick?

If you don't believe the name will stick Jeff, I have a big red bridge in San Francisco that you'd just LOVE to purchase.
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

Ha - I wouldn't bet against you. I think Microsoft should just skip the even numbers and stick with odd ones. Windows 7. Windows 9. Windows 11.

Can't find a reliable info about W9... may somebody help me?

If W9 will continue the traditions of W2000/XP/W7, it will be cool.

        Best regards!

Based on what (limited) information we've seen so far, it looks like Microsoft is doing their best to make Windows 9 appeal to as many people as possible, and distance themselves from Windows 8.

As far as sources of information for Windows 9, we'll be posting links to stories that discuss Windows 9 here, and we'll be adding a dedicated Windows 9 category page to the Petri content website (Petri.com) in the near future.

I didn't actually mind working with Windows 8 or 8.1.

Once i had what i needed where i needed it, it was fine.

But if Windows 9 is going to be better then bring it on i say

I dare you to repeat that 2 days after running out of Laphroaig.

I have to agree with Wullie - once I get past that stupid ex-metro, ex-tifkam, bloody-start screen (using Classic Shell), I have a faster, more stable version of Windows 7 with some very nice features (client HyperV for one)

The problem is that on the surface (the first thing everyone sees) it has changed radically, but underneath everything familiar is there

And no, that is not the Talisker speaking, although after a night of watching the polls, it should have been

Re: Windows 9 Technical Preview screenshots leaked

For me, the screenshots seems like from some antediluvian edition of KDE (or, perhaps, CDE).

The interface is not main consideration, but these previews contains some ugly forms and non-contrast schemes only.

P.S. It's my personal opinion only; this may be only technical shots, or I may miss the point completely.
