With the introduction of Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) , Should one begin the MCSE path to certification? I imagine if one will be working in a xp 2k environment he could benefit from the cert. But is it worth the time and money to invest in a mcse cert , while it could be invested in mcitp , mcts?

    Thank you in advance.

    Re: MCSE Assistance

    Hi Pious,

    welcome to this forum!

I don't know what kind of job position do you fill in your company but i think if you make part of the IT system administration staff you'll need trustee and recognized knowledge background and techinical skills soon or later.. and both can only be filled in a cert path of course!
More depthly i can suggest you point to MCSE 2003 or wait for the new Windows 2008 certification path "Windows Server 2008 Administrator" or "Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Administrator". Skip MCTS and MCITP because they sounds to me like requirements for consultants involved in planning and designing IT infrastructure.

Go straight ahead to MCSE and don't be scared!
