Can anyone give me some feedback on purchasing this set of books

I am going to be taking my 70-270 at the end of this month (I already have a NON-MS Press book I have been using and seems to be a bit tough to read though I am very proficient in Windows XP) and would like to continue on the MCSE study track. Are these books good on there own? Has anyone had any experience using these to study for the other tests 70-290, 70-291 etc...? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks!
Be easy on me, I'm here to learn

I have that exact same kit. I only read the books for 291, 293, and 294. (had already passed 290 when I got it) I found the books themselves to be pretty good on prepping you for the content of the test but it doesn't cover everything. But more than the books, I found that as I was immersed in day to day administration, the tests became easier to study for and pass.

I like those books -- official MS materials always seem like a good idea for an MS exam, but I also like the Que Exam Cram 2 series for extra revision

I used those books too! Great for refreshing!
I will say that their practice tests in the books and on the CD are filled with errors though so check your answers with TechNet!

I suppose people stick with what they know. I combine the MS Press books with the FREE () Trainsignal videos and Virtual server. It's worked fine for me.

Just need to get my ass into gear and start reading the next one

              I agree.

One thing I did learn was to stay away from books that have multiple authors. 2 or 3 is ok. The worst one I had was NewRider TCP/IP. 17 chapters and 11 authors. The different writing styles of the authors made this the hardest book I have ever had to use for study. (It will haunt me forever )
              1 1 was a racehorse.
              2 2 was 1 2.
              1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
              2 2 1 1 2

I have that set of books and find them very good. I used this book to prepare for the 270 exam. I also found the knowledge from the 271 and 272 was a benefit.

**SHUDDER** don't go there. One Employer offered me the New Riders set (which I had a look at) and I've been mentally scarred for life. Appalling, terrible books.

Of course this is the writer's personal opinion (and mine) and in no way reflects the view of Petri.co.il.
