  • Passed SNAF

Today I finally tried the Cisco SNAF 642-524 exam.
I was a bit uncertain if I would pass. The last couple of months I was really busy so I had some doubts...
During the exam my hands felt a bit dampy... Still though my passing score was 943 points...
I was really relieved when I read the word "passed" also since my CCNA would expire at the 10th of April...

Well usually I'm quite confident if I passed or not...
but this time, I think it stopped for a couple of seconds.. And it took ages before I finally knew that I was passed

Yups, the VCP4 exam is next, and after that maybe Cisco UCS or Cisco Nexus and well maybe Juniper JNCIS-FWV

Great job! So, do you have a list of exams that you want to take like you made last year? I thought your color formatting of exams that you took vs. exams that you have yet to take was a nice touch.

            Re: Passed SNAF

Thanks Wesley and to respond to your coloring question.....

Well this year everything is a bit different.
Somehow every time I create a study plan then something happens..
Being invited for new studies or being told to follow some courses.
For example, instead of SNAF I actually was working towards CCNA Security.
VCP was not in the planning but SQL 2008 was.
UCS (Unified Computing from Cisco) is also something where I was invited for but wasn't on my planning
Juniper, well I was invited but I didn't had a lot of time. So my response was; "if this is in an introduction then yes I'm interested, else I don't have the time" well it was a 5 day crash course (fasstrack) for Juniper professional level...

So yes, coloring is nice if you can make your own planning but lately this is not the case
But for now, VCP 4 is next

            Thanks Simon!

I know the experience well. But at least that "something" is safe and interesting rather than sad and catastrophic. I look forward to seeing your signature grow.

The only problem with a larger signature and/or ever changing plans is the risk you might loose your specialism...
And I'm not sure if that is a good one or not.
Btw, a while ago I did some job interviews and with my current signature the response what I received was: "is that all you have.. that isn't much.. it would be good if you also have your at least your CCNP, CCSP and VCP". So somehow a bigger signature is better. I've some doubts about that

@Ossian, Thanks! Man it was really a though exam. Although I used more then an hour (of the 2 hours I got) it was hard. At almost every question I had some doubts and at a certain moment I was convinced I failed the exam. So I speeded it up to end the horror but somehow I did something good Oh, and there was no previous button or review check boxes

Not enough qualifications? That's messed up. I don't think any rational person would see that many certifications and not realize that you were interested in education and furthering your knowledge. Were they some kind of technology service providor that just wanted people to have certs so that could brag "We have n people with CCNA, VCP, OEM, BBQ, TLA and ETLA certifications!"

Funny, I kinda like generalization. I like to mess with networks, servers, SANs, physical infrastructure, WAN, LAN... everything. I'm kinda avoiding specialization at the moment. That might not be wise for too much longer.

                        Re: Passed SNAF

In fact, they scaled me in a lower job description, lower salery, lower benefits etc. And yes, they are a service provider (not an ISP ) just as where I'm currently working for. However much smaller though.
I currently work for an international company which has (or maybe still have) divisions in the US, UK, Australia and many many other countries. I also like to play around with different products but for some products I really want to have in depth knowledge

At a certain point, I think enough is enough But for know I'm really happy I passed SNAF and I'm already start studying for VCP using Davids Davis training videos from TrainSignal
