  • good router to study with

I recently read over the article about the 800 seriles being decent to study off of for people new to the cisco arena and looking to study for the CCNA. I agree with the article for the most part. I just wodnered what you would think about a 1720/1721? After i purchased 3 used 2501s, I got a 1721 off ebay for about 100. It has the ram to run some versions of 12.4 code and almost any 12.3 code. As far as functionallity goes, it seems idea for a home/home office network. I just wondered what you think of the 1700 series as a home internet and study router.

i've used about 3 2500 series routers and a couple of switches so you can practice with vtp, spanning-tree etc.
    That should do the job

I have two 2524 routers and two 2924 switches that I use. I have the routers set up for a back-to-back connection through a 56k CSU/DSU for practicing routing, vlan, etc.

Id Say Both 2500 & 2600 series should be enough to GGG (get a great grade)
